While the speed of the Wi-Fi is a bit slow. I walked in with a Starbucks cup and was shown a seat where I can sit and use the free, unprotected WiFi network in the lobby. Nice environment but WiFi was slow.

Friendly staff but over crowded and very slow internet. It may drop connections many times each hour.

Decent wifi, lots of outlets, big windows, lots of table space for co-working, cheap and good food and drink, appears to have been decorated by Monica Geller.

It is a great space. They really captured the Toronto coffee shop aesthetic. Down to the hilarious new pews(coffee shops usually use pews for seating because churches give them away for free when they close) and those wrought iron legged tables that aren’t even wobbly yet.

There is lots of space and outlets. The WiFi is unsecured though.

Reliable wifi, outlets, quiet, natural light, delicious coffee, tea, sandwiches, and baked goods. One common table at the back, outdoor seating in the summer.

UPDATE: WiFi did improve as the afternoon went on.

WiFi was patchy and lagged with 3 or 4 users. Time outs were common. Password was: 3oakwood

Lack of plug sockets but good Wi-Fi and plenty of table space. A big open space but a bit noisy for making phone calls.

Came here in the middle of the day and was quiet although there was louder than usual music. Multiple wi-fi networks and good speeds. I could not find a plug socket though.

Hy’s is an excellent high class lunch spot for those working downtown in the area of Bay St. Hy’s is one of the best steakhouses in Toronto. On the plus side, their WiFi has symmetrical internet bandwidth, providing the same upload and download speed … but the service rarely goes above 5 Mbps, so don’t expect blazing fast speeds.

Dawes Crossing is a public space designed by artist Noel Harding, LandLab landscaping and the city of Toronto. It is solar powered and offers wifi provided by Wireless Toronto.

When we tested this location we saw some very fast speeds. Download speed of 57.72 and upload speed of 7.25. There are also large shared tables and plenty of seating. Often busy with students working together after a lecture at the local Ryerson University.

Plenty of plug sockets and spacious seating, this is a welcoming spot for wi-fi users looking to pull out a laptop and get online. When we tested the wifi here there were about 10 other people with laptops open likely using the wifi. The Download speed was 8.46 and the upload speed was 8.65 with a latency of 33 ms. As you can see from the picture below the plug sockets have been placed in the right location, and better yet there is enough of them for all to share.

While the speeds are the not the greatest, the internet worked great with some good speeds. The whole tunnel also has free wi-fi so you can connect for the 3 minute walk underground. Plenty of seating and plug sockets in waiting lounge.

A good bar to watch some sports and they do provide free wifi although the speed is so slow websites often timeout before they are loaded. They are also one of those bars that have their owner size of a pint (much smaller than the standard size) and charge the same price as a large.

YYZ now has free ad-supported wifi throughout both terminals courtesy of American Express. Although it is free it almost un-usable and reminded me of 1995. The speedtest gives Pearson Airport a failing F grade when it comes to wifi service, there are iPads and plenty or charging stations. When we attempted speed tests, the website would often time-out. Websites can take 5 minutes to load.

To activate Wi-Fi on your laptop, tablet or smartphone, simply:

1. Enable Wi-Fi on your device
2. Select “Toronto Pearson Wi-Fi” from the network list
3. Launch your Internet browser
4. Click connect on the Boingo landing page.

movers calgary Carrot Common is a nice little courtyard, surrounded by coffee shops and blanketed with free wifi from Wireless Toronto.

One of the busiest Starbucks locations in Canada.

Not too much seating available, especially the more comfortable arm chairs. Good spot to work but wifi can be more on the slow side, it is usable though.

Usually quite busy but plenty of space.
